Robert (Bob) J. Anderson is a fourth-generation land surveyor. His career started in 1993 working summers as a rodman for Anderson Survey Company. In 2000, he was promoted to Crew Leader and became a Land Surveyor in Training in 2004. Continuing to gain practical experience and knowledge, he obtained his Professional Land Surveyor license in Missouri in 2010 and Kansas in 2016.
Bob served as President of the Board for the Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS) in 2023 and is currently serving as Past President on the Board. He serves as Chair of the Awards and Nomination Committee as well as serving on the Legislative Committee. Mr. Anderson is also the Vice Chair on the Board for the Midwest Geospatial Academy. By dedicating time to these organizations, he demonstrates a deep commitment to advancing the surveying field and inspiring emerging professionals.
Following in the footsteps of his father, James S. Anderson, grandfather, Oliver S. Anderson, great uncle, Robert W. Anderson, and great grandfather, James Pearl Anderson (founder), Mr. Anderson currently serves Anderson Survey Company as its CEO. He manages the company’s daily business and avails his expertise in boundary decisions as well as offering guidance to team members on surveying techniques, rules and laws. While embracing technological advancements in the field, he integrates efficiency and innovation without sacrificing the profession’s traditional principles and values.
Holly began “checking files” at age 15. By doing so, she gained firsthand insight into each department and developed an understanding of company operations and work-flow. She started focusing more closely on the organization’s financial functions in 2000, and then expanded her skill-set into job tracking, record-keeping, financial oversight, and client communication. Possessing a strong background built over several years in accounting and financial administration, she oversees invoicing, collections, cash application and account reconciliation while ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Holly also fosters collaboration and a positive work environment while driving the team toward shared goals. Propelled by an inclusive leadership style, she additionally ensures all team members have a voice.
A true jill of all trades, Dani handles all of the “things.” Whether it’s human resources, benefits, payroll, accounts payable, strategic planning, business development, or just bringing cookies, she has provided years of dedication to the team. Known for her frank, straightforward nature, Dani communicates with fairness and a deep understanding of the company’s long-term goals. Dani’s long tenure has given her valuable historical perspective, providing tutelage on the company’s evolution and to make decisions grounded in institutional knowledge. Simultaneously, she continually seeks innovative, fresh ideas that improve processes, strengthen culture, and support future growth.
At 16, Jim started working in the field with his uncle, Robert (Bob) Anderson and other Crew Leaders who taught him the value of accuracy and time management. In 1973, he was promoted to Crew Leader and became Vice-President in 1978. In 1993, he was promoted to President upon his father’s (Oliver) death and is still with the firm in a consulting capacity today.
In 19935, Jim was appointed to the Board of Architects, Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors by Governor Mel Carnahan and then reappointed in November of 1997. He was then appointed as Charman of the Board in May of 2002 by Governor Bob Holden and served until January 2009.
Jim has extensive experience in boundary and design surveys for industrial and commercial projects, both large and small. He has provided managerial and technical expertise on hundreds of projects. He was just presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors at their 68th Annual Fall Conference in October. In a meaningful moment, the award was presented by his son, Bob Anderson, the Past President of the association.
Driven by a passion for helping our team succeed, Heather assists with daily administrative tasks while also contributing to larger organizational projects. She handles communication, prepares documents, maintains records, and supports both leadership and team members with efficiency and professionalism. Skilled at juggling many tasks at once, she shoulders new duties daily while staying focused in a dynamic environment.
Raised in a family of land surveyors, Mike grew up hunting for section corners in the mountains of Colorado. While he didn’t understand the rationale, he simply enjoyed the adventures. However, once he began working on a survey crew, he realized he had inherited the basic skills and comprehension needed to excel. Taking immense pride in the profession, he turned those early outings into a calling. Mike has completed several projects in his 30 year career from simple boundary surveys to large-scale infrastructure layouts.
Known for precision, integrity and a practical understanding honed through years of hands-on experience, Mike brings both heritage and innovation to every project.
Matt started surveying when a friend asked him if “he wanted to play in the woods for money.” What started as a fun way to make a little money quickly evolved into a career. His passion for the surveying field has continued to grow as he has advanced from an entry level position to earning his LSIT Certificate to now sitting for his PS.
Known for a thoughtful and collaborative workstyle, Matt brings reliability, adaptability and commitment to his projects. He believes there is always something new to learn in surveying and that belief has kept him engaged and inspired. Guided by professionalism and a genuine respect for the field, Matt brings both the experience needed and meticulous care for projects of any size.
Robert is an experienced CADD Technician with several years of hands-on experience providing detailed drafting and design support across a variety of projects. With a strong foundation in CADD standards and drafting practices, Robert consistently delivers precise, high-quality drawings that support efficient project execution.
Known for his attention to detail, he produces accurate, well-organized drawings that meet both technical standards and drafting principles. Robert ensures files are well-organized and aligned with project requirements.
With extensive experience across a wide range of surveying projects, Brandon is a skilled and dependable Crew Leader known for cultivating excellent relationships with clients. Over the course of his career, he has led crews through projects such as boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, design surveys, construction layout, pipeline routing and staking, and underground utility location while providing customer service that is unmatched.
Committed to safety, precision and clear communication, Brandon ensures that every project is completed to the highest professional standards. His breadth of experience and steady leadership continues to make him a valuable asset to clients and crews alike.
Driven by a passion for the profession, Matt is currently enrolled in surveying classes through Midwest Geospatial Academy pursuing his LSIT (Land Surveyor in Training) Certificate. This pursuit reflects not only his dedication to advancing his career, but also his commitment to upholding the highest standards of the industry.
Matt was recognized in the December 2025 Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors newsletter for earning a $500 scholarship. This commitment to ongoing personal development strengthens his craft, while also contributing to the success of his team. With a forward-thinking approach to problem-solving, coupled with a growth mindset, Matt looks forward to an exciting and bright future in the field.
With a natural ability to pick up details quickly, Asher is a calm, focused presence making him a steady and dependable team member. He is always absorbing information and applying it to each job. This quality has propelled him into looking ahead for promotion to Crew Leader in Training next year.
James approaches each day with optimism and a genuine enthusiasm for work. With an upbeat attitude and a wide range of experiences, James can work seamlessly on any team. His approachable nature makes him a valuable asset on every job site. In both his spare time and paid time, you will always find James enjoying the outdoors!
As Pawject Manager, Otis is the fun and fur of the office. His responsibilities include vocal quality control by maintaining a strong stance on office security through proactive barking audits. Additionally, Otis closely supervises snack distribution deadlines by, again, vocal quality control and an irresistible head tilt. When not conducting supervisory duties, he can be found recharging in his corner office dog bed for executive power naps.
Bama earned her Pawject Manager certification on her Gotcha Day in May of 2020. However, being the over-achiever she is, she earned her “very goodest girl” certification at the exact same time. Known for her pawsitive attitude and friendly nature, Bama reminds everyone that teamwork is best with patience, encouragement and a little joy. She’s not just a Pawject Manager, she’s the ulti-mutt team player!
